Tillable is revolutionizing farmland ownership, and creating an efficient marketplace for land. Agriculture is the last real estate vertical to be digitized, and we want to lead the way in improving the farmland ownership experience from end-to-end. From our unparalleled geospatial land intelligence platform to brokerage, management and loans, Tillable is here to make it easy! 

Farm Brokerage is a critical part of Tillable’s mission. We are looking for brokers with a proven track record of finding new farms to sell,  and developing strategic relationships to grow our business. Qualified candidates will possess an entrepreneurial spirit, a high level of determination and self-motivation, and a desire to join a fast growing, digitally enabled brokerage team. 

What you’d be responsible for:

  • Generating new business using your existing network and the tools provided by Tillable. 
  • Frequent client communication and excellent customer service.
  • Staying current on local market conditions, inventory, and industry trends.
  • Working with buyers, sellers, landlords, tenants and external sources (FSA, County Assessors, Title Companies, etc.) to facilitate real estate listings and transactions.
  • Scheduling and attending all necessary appointments including showings, farm visits, and closings as required.

 

What you bring:

  • A Real Estate Broker License.
  • An insured vehicle & valid drivers license.
  • A strong sales background and proven ability to close deals and build meaningful connections within your community quickly.
  • Ability to use digital tools (e.g. our CRM and the Tillable Platform) to generate business, manage relationships, and create/manage listings. 
  • Ability to work across Tillable departments and with external partners. 
  • A high level of professionalism and an  outgoing, reliable, organized, motivated and confident personality.
  • A background or knowledge-base in Farm Management or Agricultural practices is a HUGE plus!

Farm Brokerage is a critical part of Tillable’s mission. We are looking for a Brokerage Manager/Lead to execute Tillable’s brokerage growth strategy, driving revenue growth and profitability for the division. The Brokerage Manager/Lead will hold primary responsibility for all brokerage staff development along with training, sales leadership, customer service, regulatory and day-to-day operational management of brokerage activity. Qualified candidates will possess exceptional farm brokerage sales skills, team leadership experience, an entrepreneurial spirit, and the desire to build and foster a high-growth brokerage team from the ground up. Success in this role is defined by achieving annual revenue and profitability goals, along with building a superstar team of farm brokers.

What you’d be responsible for:

  • Managing and overseeing day-to-day brokerage operations.
  • Developing relationships with landowners and large ag investors to source and facilitate farm sales.
  • Ensuring the brokerage and agents are adhering to all company policies and procedures and abiding by all state and national real-estate laws.
  • Developing and meeting monthly, quarterly and annual listing and profitability goals for the Team, as well as other relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for the team.
  • Growing the brokerage team by sourcing new realtors that will make excellent team members.
  • Developing materials and running training sessions for new and existing real estate agents to ensure their performance meets Tillable’s highest standards.

 

What you bring:

  • A Managing Broker’s license in IL, IA or MN or eligibility to obtain Managing Broker’s License.
  • 5+ years of experience as a licensed, active broker with proven ability to obtain listings and build meaningful connections within your community quickly.
  • Proven ability to build and lead a team of successful farm real estate agents.
  • Proficiency using digital tools (e.g. Salesforce and the Tillable Platform) to generate business, manage relationships, and create/manage listings.
  • Willingness to share knowledge and work across various departments/with external partners.
  • A high level of professionalism and confidence.
  • A strong understanding of the farm real estate industry is mandatory, and extensive knowledge of midwest state real-estate laws is a HUGE plus!

 Tillable, Inc. (www.tillable.com) is the first digital marketplace/platform for connecting land owners and farmers. We are a VC funded (Series A) startup backed by top tier investors. We are currently a relatively small team on the cusp of building a disruptive, high impact business in a massive market. We have a chance to not only solve a multi-billion dollar problem but also do good for the earth/climate as we scale. 
 
40% of all US farmland is rented every year in which $32 billion dollars is exchanged.  Ironically, this market still functions the same as it did 50 years ago – no established marketplace, no price transparency, landowners have very little data on how their farmland performs and farmers can’t access land opportunities efficiently.  Tillable solves these problems with the introduction of a digital marketplace and the use of technology to gather data for landowners so that they can make more informed decisions about how their farmland is managed.

Core responsibilities of the role include:
  • Meet and exceed sales targets
  • Close sales via phone, email, and instant messaging, from both internally and self generated customer leads including the gathering of information required to list their farm on the Tillable website 
  • Conduct frequent phone consultations with clients advising them on how the Tillable platform will improve the financial performance of their farmland as well as tenant relations
  • Implement creative ways to improve our close rate
  • Communicate with customers proactively
  • Maintain the company’s positive image and branding efforts through an upbeat and positive demeanor as well as respectful and responsible behavior in all interactions with customers
  • Keep detailed and organized records of your sales activity through the company’s CRM system

Requirements
  • Sales Development/BDR or 1-3 years of previous sales experience. If you are a recent grad, we can discuss that as well.
